MARY RUTH THEODOS
LGPC

INDIVIDUAL therapy (AGES 18+)
INTAKE COORDINATOR

I use an eclectic approach to encourage individuals toward self-discovery and healing.  Through a warm and empathetic approach, I nurture and empower clients away from shame and self-doubt as they explore their gifts and strengths. I am passionate about helping individuals understand how their life experiences have shaped them and how they move forward in healing both in emotional and practical ways.  In particular, my strengths are anxiety, trauma, time management, parenting young children, and healing childhood wounds.  I assist my clients in telling their own stories and creating attainable goals for the present and the future.

Therapeutic Orientation

I use a person-centered approach and create a calm and nurturing environment for my clients. I support my clients in understanding how they have been affected by events of their past and how they can move forward. I work with adults, ages 18 and above. As a parent and an experienced counselor in DC public schools, I offer parental support and am able to provide parents with practical strategies to apply at home.

Prepare and Enrich

I also do the Prepare and Enrich programs. What is the Prepare and Enrich program? According to DR. David Olson and Karen Olson (founders of Prepare and Enrich program), Prepare and Enrich is “a program for premarital and married couples who want to get their marriage off to a good start or enrich their marriage .” If you have questions or are interested in this program, please use our contact form and I will help you.
