Individual Therapy for Children & Adolescents ages 10+ and Young Adults

The journey of life can be fulfilling and rewarding. However, unforeseen obstacles can be placed in our way that prevent us from moving forward at the pace, direction, or path we may want. My goal as a therapist is to support you on your journey and help you through these obstacles that are interfering with your quality of life. I will provide a nurturing environment that fosters growth and exploration. I believe that we each possess the tools needed to live a meaningful and rewarding life, but sometimes we just need a little extra support in identifying them.

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in the DMV for the past nine years. I have primarily worked with children, adolescence, and young adults in a wide variety of settings that include schools, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and in-home services.

I am a bi-racial culturally competent therapist who has worked with a diverse group of clients. I have participated in research teams that study moral development in adolescence from many different backgrounds, completed an empirical review on studies of racial identity in bi-racial individuals, and attend workshops that will help me better understand groups of people different from mine. I believe it is mandatory as a therapist to be aware of our biases, so that they do not interfere in the therapeutic process. Also, I regularly attend workshops, seminars, conferences, and professional developments to stay abreast on current research, therapeutic skills, and techniques.
