I am happy I joined the staff of Lotus Point Wellness in the Fall of 2023. After 30-plus years of clinical practice in various settings, LPW feels like the best fit for me to nurture and guide clients in their journeys to better wellness. I am also excited to grow professionally amongst my other high-caliber and esteemed colleagues at LPW.

Sharing your deepest truth is not easy. I am honored to be a compassionate witness and experienced guide on your healing journey. Helping couples connect and develop a secure attachment is one of my most significant sources of satisfaction.

In my career, I work from several theoretical frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (accepting what can not always change in your situation, identifying your values, and committing to living your best life) and EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) for accelerated healing for trauma treatment. I also combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Psychodynamic/Family Systems approach to pinpoint where we may have developed our self-esteem and unhelpful thinking style in our childhood development that may lead to anxiety or depression today or both. I help my clients challenge those cognitive distortions with concrete evidence to the contrary and positive affirmations. I work very collaboratively, so I only use methods my clients are comfortable and interested in.

In my career, I worked at several community mental health clinics. I was a clinical manager at two centers, Sheppard Pratt’s Howard County’s outpatient clinic and Village Family Network. I also created and led a student intern program on the undergraduate, graduate student, and post-graduate levels at Sheppard Pratt, where I worked for 12 years. I worked in private practices, including Psych Care and Chrysalis, and I have spent some time as a social worker for a dialysis center. I learned how important social support is in medical and emotional ways. I worked at the Jewish Social Service Agency, a secular counseling outpatient center. I was the community outreach coordinator, tripled the client population in a satellite office, and led workshops and ADHD group therapy for children.
