SELF-LOVE & BODY TRAUMA

AN EXPLORATION OF RACIAL TRAUMA AND EMBRACING HEALING FOR THE BODY, MIND, AND SPIRIT.

A growth support group for African American/Black women interested in self-exploration of racial trauma and embracing healing for the mind, body, and spirit. This will be open to 6 women who are interested in sharing, growing, and learning in a safe, confidential group. 

We will be reading and discussing the book, Your Body Is Not An Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor.

Facilitator: Mary Ruth Theodos, LGPC.

Materials to bring:  Your Body Is Not An Apology by Sonya Renee Taylor, a candle, a cup of your favorite tea.

Support groups are a vital component to overall mental health and wellness. Attendance at all sessions helps members feel comfortable and safe. When you register, you are securing a spot in the group and agreeing to attendance at all sessions. No refunds for missed sessions; in the case of an emergency situation please discuss with the group leader.

About mary ruth theodos, LGPC

Mary Ruth Theodos, LGPC has a MA in Counseling from Trinity University. Mary Ruth is passionate about helping others tell their story and exploring ways to heal, restore, and mend. Some of Mary Ruth’s counseling strengths are in relationship dynamics, racial healing, time management, parenting young children, and self care. When not counseling, Mary Ruth enjoys life with her family, reading, baking, and spending time in nature.
