Start Showing Your Anxious Brain Who’s Boss (Teens and Adults).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), can quickly and effectively lower your anxiety and make you feel more in control of your anxiety. By the end of the hour you will have learned about:

  • The critical connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors,
  • The most common cognitive distortions which fuel anxiety, and how to refute them, and
  • How to quickly calm your body.

Facilitator: Mandi Mader, LCSW-C

Presented by Mandi Mader. Mandi is an associate therapist at LPW and has been a psychotherapist for 25 years. She works from several theoretical frameworks including Humanistic, Attachment, Cognitive, Interpersonal, and Psychodynamic. She has specialized training in CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) for trauma treatment.

In addition to LPW, she has also worked at Suburban Hospital, UMD Shady Grove’s Counseling Center, and was the Executive Director at Washington Pastoral Counseling Service.

Presented by Mandi Mader, LCSW-C. Mandi is an associate therapist at LPW and has been a psychotherapist for 25 years. After successfully lobbying Montgomery County Schools to open at a later and healthier time, she became more interested in the connection between adequate sleep and good mental health. She has since been trained at the University of Pennsylvania to treat insomnia and some other sleep disorders.
